what do you mean by trail ready. Are you fouling plugs alot i know a lot o people that do that with a 2 stroke on trails 2 strokes are ment for the track but if you knowhow to ride you can make it on trails i have a 2001 CR125R and i ride trails one thing i did to my bike is a bigger rear sprocket and smaller front sprocket makes it slower but real good for trails theres a few other things you can do for trails ill post a little later
did you ride a CR125R before. the stock set up for an 03 cr125 is 13/51 the gear ratio is 3.92 speed is about 65 MPH thats stock if you put on a12/53 the gear ratio is 4.42 speed is about 57 MPH and if you add a FMF SST pipe you will get more bottom end and top end in the powerband and with a FMF Powercore 2 Shorty Silencer it maximizes bottom & mid power gains Running a hotter burning plug will help on trails i think stock plugs are 9's I run 8's in mine and rejetting the bike might help to. I dont know if any of this helps. But if you have never owned a 2 stroke before you will need all the help you can get
