Aussie TTR125L Registerable!

Yamaha Australia have continued their innovative tradition of putting the appropriate ADR Compliance bits onto some purely off road bikes to make them ADR Compliant, and easily registerable. This time they've done it to the TTR125L!

Registerable TTR125

This is great news for those among us (wives, daughters and shorties like me) who are a little intimidated by the power and size of the modern day 250cc machines which have for quite a while been the only registerable bikes available.

Lets hope Honda wakes as well up and brings back a registerable XR200!

New CRF450R slims down

The new '04 CRF450R features many minor changes, which slim it down slightly over the '03 model.

Engine changes have also given the new model more bottom and midrange power also, Honda claims the new 450 delivers 55 bhp at 9000 rpm and 36.5 lb./ft. of torque at 7000 rpm.

However, the new CRF450F will cost $200 more than last year's, going from $6299 to $6499.

KTM OCTOBER 2002 SAFETY RECALL

KTM Austria informed us that there is a change in the status of the triple clamp recall. It is an unfortunate situation but KTM takes their customers safety very seriously. The initial recall procedure was developed based on all the evidence available to the factory at the time of the announcement. Being a safety related defect and to avoid possible injury to the KTM owner the factory did not have the luxury to wait to gather further evidence before acting and inspecting.

Honda have finally taken the wraps off their new 250 machine, which comes in both motocross and off road versions.

The off road version also gives a hint as to what the CRF450X will look like i'd say.

KTM Triple Clamp Problems?

from rec.motorcycles.dirt by Rick Ramsey

KTM has a dealer show in the Denver area. They've been demoing new 03 bikes at various tracks. Brain Penney was test riding a new KTM (model?) and broke the triple clamp on a 70' jump yesterday. He broke his hand and got a puncture wound in his neck.

KTM people looked at triple clamps on several models and found stress cracks. These triple clamps are new this year for the new larger diameter forks. KTM has recalled all 03 bikes.
