Christensens Motorcycles Yamaha rider Blake Hore has opened his 2006 Yamaha
Victorian Off Road Championship campaign on a solid footing with a third
overall at the opening round in Ballarat last weekend.
With the Ballarat Rovers Motorcycle Club setting out a tough first class
course for the Sprint event Blake was full of optimism as the day got
underway. With the lack rain in the area riders where placed a minute apart
which only allowed for 3 runs for the day, ensuing the competition would be
close.
"My first run went really well and I surprised myself by finishing first 1.6
seconds in front of Jehi Willis," Blake said.
"The pressure was on as I had to start first in the next run but I rode a
bit tight from the beginning of the test which caused me to make a few
mistakes. So when the times came in and Willis, Brad Williscroft and myself
were 0.8 of a second apart going into the last test."
"In the last test I struggled with my lines and ended up 3rd on the day 15
seconds behind Williscroft and 7 seconds behind Jehi."
"I am pretty happy with the days result my mistakes where more a judgment
call than not having the speed so I am sure I can put that behind me and
move forward
"My Christensens Yamaha 450 worked really well and I have been developing
suspension settings to suit my riding with Chad Talbot from Chad's Off Road
Set Ups. I am pleased with this positive start to the 2006 season".
