ThumperX, Australian Junior Motocross Titles and Plaster

From Taylor Potter - The good news first.

I had another win in the Victorian ThumperX series on my ACS Racing BBR150 4 stroke at Avalon on Sunday 26 September 2004. The track was really fast and flowing. The weather was sunny for an hour then it was wet then it was sunny again. Weird weather but I had a cool time and won 3 races outright from 3 starts.

On the Saturday before the ThumperX I had coaching from Cameron Taylor (CDR Yamaha) and that was really good. Cameron worked on my braking and corner speed and I learnt a lot and he helped me out a lot. Thanks Cameron.

Now the bad news.

Full Throttle Sports bring motorcycling to the schools

Full Throttle Sports has recently embarked upon new initiatives to increase participation within the sport and encourage students to consider the diversified careers in the sport of motorcycling.

Full Throttle Sports Honda director Yarrive Konsky has a goal to improve the profile of off road motorcycling that is shared by his sponsors and fellow riders-

“We want to increase participation in the sport, although primarily we want to increase awareness, not just for the sport as a profession, but as a professional sport providing a diverse
range of exciting career opportunities. If we ignore these ideas and concentrate on sales alone, then the future of the sport in my view looks grim.”

An update from Alyssa Culley

18 Feb 2004: HEY EVERYONE!!! How's things?? I've been pretty good! I'm at home in Canberra at the moment and it great to be home!I really have to apologise for not writing sooner. I've been really enjoying my time off and hanging out it with my folks and having plenty of fun kicking it with all my buds!

Jeff & Rob T from Team KTM Motorex were kind enough to give me a brand spanking 125cc for the time that I'm home so I can train and get ready for the US series! I haven't ridden a 125cc for a few years but OMIGOD that bike is FAST! I got the boys at Race Tech up in Sydney to put some "Gold Valve" suspension in there for me and the bike just hooks! I've ridden the bike pretty much every weekend since I got it and I think it has to be the best 125cc ever built! The engine is fantastic with a lot of power up high and where other 125cc lack, the KTM has quite a bit of grunt of the bottom and it really pulls you out of corners like a 4 stroke would.
