Blais Racing/KTM rider Russ Pearson won the 4th round of the AMA Hare & Hound Series while Shock Doctor/KTM riders David Kamo and David Pearson finished 4th and 5th respectively.
Both Kamo and D. Pearson had decent starts but the dust off the start caused trouble for Kamo as they rounded the end of the bomb. "The dust got so thick that I couldn't see anything and before I knew it I was over the bars and on the ground," commented Kamo. His teammate, Pearson was able to escape the worst of the dust clouds and sat inside the top five along with R. Pearson as they began the first loop.
The first loop was approximately 38 miles long of fast desert terrain. Kamo had fought hard that first 38 miles to come up through the pack and catch the leaders by the end of the loop. He passed his teammate D. Pearson for 4th right before the gas stop and continued to charge hard to catch the rest of the pack.
The second loop was shorter but more technical, thus, taking approximately the same amount of time to finish. "I got lost a couple of times in the second loop which cost me a lot of time," remarked Kamo. At the end of the race he finished 4th approximately five minutes behind the leaders. D. Pearson finished 5th overall.
This race marked the second win for R. Pearson this year and also moved him into 3rd overall in points. With four rounds down, Kamo still leads the series over Destry Abbott, Russ Pearson and David Pearson.
