they are extremly fast and dont buy anything but honda also the front suspension looks a bit different but out performs anything-the best mod you can add to the 230 is a new exhaust. the stock exhaust bottles up horsepower i prefer the white brothers r4 system for max power and bottom pull
My friend bought a CRF 230 and he always complained of bottoming out after every jump bigger than 6 feet up... Yes, his suspension is turned all the way up. Whoever said it was a good jumping bike must have aftermarket suspension or never jumped higher than 6 feet.
jesus u guys need to read up man i have a cr 125 but my bor has a crf 230 and we own our own track and on the 230 we hit 40 foot doubles and theres no problem...and its stocked except for bbr big bore kit and some twin air filter.. it DOESN"T buttom out on a fuking 6 foot jump.YES crf230 is a trail bike but if u ride more trials then jumps but still like to jump once and a while and want a bike that will NEVER brake down then get crf230 cause just slapt a good exhaust system ( BBR big bore kit) gives u 1.5 more horse get a BBR rev panel soo gives ur more rmp and picks up ur power and then just get a new air filter i would go twin air filter.... and u will be fine for w/e maybe after a while u think u aren't oing to be buying a new bike and u do get hardcore jumping get aftermarket forks but i wouldn't.
yea right dude u dont know what your talking about yz sucks at jumping my cr 250 will out jumo a yz 250 any day yz has had so may prob.. ive raced my buddy on our track and any were else and ive out jumoed him every tie some time jumoed so bad the shokes bottomed out even on a landing jump so u can tell me that a yz will make u a better jumper go with a cr
It dont matter what bike you got, it all depends how big the balls are that are planted to the seat, you could put Ricky Carmichael on an RM80 and he'll out jump all of you...
But for the record, i got a YZ125 and it eats Honda's for breakfast.
ya ok buddy w.e your yz probly couldnt beat a crf 50 evpacialy the way u ride if u wanna ever race when im a round come on buddy ill eat the hell out of your little yahmaha blue is suck a fag color come on bud u need to ride red i will suport my honda shop ride any time i need to
Ok for all you people hating on Yamaha, the YZ's (125-250) are actually really good bikes. But I know that the Honda's CR's preform a lot better (also 125-250). But that doesn't mean that the YZ's are fags. Thats like me saying Suzuki's suck ass, when I have never ridin a Suzuki in my life. Any ways back on subject. The CRF230 is an ok jumpimg bike but it wasn't built for jumping. I agree with the guy who said if you want a bike that is for trail riding but can jump every once in a while, you should get the CRF230. But if you jump a lot and prefer 4 strokes, then get the CRF250X (unless your not tall enough). WARNING: DO NOT BUY A TTR230!!!!
I have a KX125, a TTR125, and a CRF50. And believe it or not I like the KX the best. But only because it's the most powerful. If the CRF50 were more powerful I would prefer that easily. The 50 is very fun though.
yea i agree a 4 stroke is ment for trails and acasional jump isnt gunna hurt it but if u like jumping get somehting that is made for that even if it is 2 big you will grow into it
CR125 MaN is exactly right. My dad bought a CRF230F for himself and me. I went to my friend's motocross track. HAHA that was a JOKE! First of all, the bike is slow as hell. Secondly, THEY ARE NOT GOOD FOR JUMPING!!!!! Just about every jump i've gone off of i've bottomed out. It really sucks. I'm going tomorrow to get a CR125 in Georgia. I believe it will be kick ass. I rode the kids' brother's CR80!!! and it was a lot faster than my CRF230!!! i thought i would just about hand his ass to him.... but i was wrong. I think my new 125 is going to kick my ass. I came from an XR100RY '00 and then to the CRF230 '03, and i'm going to the 2-strokes now... i'm getting a CR125R I think it will be kick ass. Expecially after I install a FMF Fatty pipe and Powercore 2 silencer. The cheapest place i've seen to buy parts online is at WWW.RIDEGEAR.COM Everyone should go there IMMEDIATELY!!! it is the best store ever!! FMFracing.com sells their shit for the same as everyone else... so if you are looking for a good discount (i'm talking like $30 off of a $120 order) then this is the place. It saves about $30 on a $120 order.. meaning it's only $90!!!! but i'm gonna stop talking now.
I ride a tricked out crf450 with a turbocharger. It turns 123hp at the crank and I can do low 9s in sand drags. Anyway, I took a high hill at speed and landed in Louisiana. It's the truth.
The Honda CR125 is a full Motocross bike, so should be great for jumping.
Of course, depending on the size of the jumps, and the weight of the rider, it may or may not bottom out.
It should handle jumps of any size better than the CRF230 will, and would have more power than the CRF230, but in a more peaky, harder to control two stroke engine.

hey i was just wondering if buying a brand new honda CRF 250x is worth it or shoulc i buy a CRF 230? what exactally is the difference between the two
Very different bikes
The two are very different bikes.
The CRF250 is a high performance, high maintenance race machine.
The CRF230 is a medium performance, low maintenance play/fun machine.
You are right man
