Im 14 and about to be 15 soon and have a ttr 90 that i have had for about 5 years. I only ride it around my yard and i rode it in the trails once. I am looking to get a new bike snd am wondering if i should get a crf 150, 230, or 250. I am afraid that the 250 or 230 will be to big and too much power. But i also think i will outgrow the 150 fast so what should i get? Also i mentioned getting a 250 to my friend and he said i would kill myself on it. But couldnt i just take it slow until i am ready to go faster?
Big yard?
You dont say how big your yard is, but unless you are going to do competition or quite a bit of trail riding, then the CRF250R is probably overkill, as would be the CRF150R
The CRF150F and CRF230F however are both "Fun" bikes. They are not designed for competition use and sound sort of like what you are after.
I would suggest visiting your local bike shop and sit on both for size. Given your age, you could still be growing and you should take that into account as well.
Hope that helps!
Thanks
Thanks for the help, and my yard is about 3 by 1 acres. I forgot to mention i take my ttr to my friends farm every year with a lot of other people and it is a big farm. I plan on maybe taking a new bike, if i get one, to a track. I also like things on the big side so i can grow into them.
Try and get a ride
I'd suggest having a test ride on similar bikes, maybe approach a local club, try out your friends or something.
But it sounds like you really know what you want already ;-)
Idk
Well i like how if i got a 250 then i would probably never outgrow it but i dont want to get it and hurt myself because everything i look at says a 250 is too much.
What about different bike?
What about reying a yz125 or a kx125. They are Very quick and they will still be fun when you get older.
Your choice, go for what you fell is the best choice. you can still sell a bike and get a newer one.
Cheers
