need help.
when I turn the fuel tank petcock to on, fuel leaks out of bottom of the carb bowl...dripping.
Does this mean that the fuel is filling up the bowl, lifting the float, but the fat needle with rubber tip just isn't doing it's job of
stopping the fuel? I replaced the float and that needle with new, but it leaks.
If I press that needle into that hole with my finger I can get it to stop the flow, but the float doesn't do it.
Someone told me that I shoud have replaced the brass cylinder with the hole in it for this needle, but I didn't like the sound of that. It doesn't even look replaceable.
should I be able to Bend the metal piece on the float so it forces the needle harder into the hole? I know it's something damn simple!
appreciate any advice.
Carby Leak
I would try that. But mabye you have some dirt thats stopping the needle and letting the fuel through. Try cleaning it out. If that doesnt work than bend the brass bit, but bending it may cause lack of power and throttle. Up to you. I hater carby problems, i had soo many problems with the chinase bikes its a pain in the bu**. Experiment with it and you might figure it out.
Good LUCK
