Hi i need som advice on building dirt jumps and landings.what is the best way to build a dirt jump. it doesnt have to be really big just smaller ones like 4ft to 8 or 10ft heigh. and how far out should the landing pad be and how heigh should it be for certain heights. if you have any advice that would be great.
Experience
This isnt really an answer, but when reading your question, I cant help thinking that if you need to ask this sort of question, then you dont yet have enough experience to be worrying about going "certain heights".
Have you spent time on your local MX track? Have you done much jumping on a Normal/BMX Bike?
There is a science/art to building good jumps, and its not easy unless you own a bobcat ;-)
Start with just tabletop style jumps until you are comfortable with them. Double and triple jumps are very advanced, and take a lot of practise and experience to clear and to build correctly.
One of the best ways to practise jumps is at your local BMX track. Look at how they've done the jumps there, feel how the bike reacts differently to steeper ramps, ramps with a lip on the top, bumps etc.
All of this sort of experience is invaluable when it comes to doing the same things on a bigger, faster machine like a dirtbike.
