How fast in top speed do u think a cr85 with a procircuit pipe, 51 tooth chain, and an air filter will go???? How much horsepower do you think it has?????

A friend of mine got his hands on what he thinks is a Yamaha YZ250. He's called the local dealers to find out what year it is so he can fix what needs fixing and ride it....the dealers haven't been able to help him with anything as to finding out how old the bike is, so I was wondering if anyone on here could help. There are two numbers that he has found so far...the number on the frame neck is 2X4-003273 and number on the motor is 2X400 246CC....unless there is another number somewhere, he's stumped....

Can anyone tell me how to decipher the numbers and to what year this bike is?

Ok fellow riders im new to the dirtbike game and i live in minnesota, like a block away from elko speedway. Around my house theres still dirt roads but alot of new construction is popping up. Anyways everyonce and a while cops come by trying to stop me, the kids by mom house dust them and zoom in the woods and never get caught. I dont want to get my bike repoded so i guess im gonna run from them to but i just was wondering how you guys handle these problems and whats consequense or laws about dirtbikes. o and remeber we have trils all around our house so i could get away and im 16.

Hi Everyone, first post on the forum.

I have an old air cooled RM/DS 80 dirt bike, fixer up for my son. I wondered if any of the bigger Suzuki 2 stroke motors would fit. eg the TF 100 / 125 motors. They look like they might. Any body out there ever done such a swop or think it may work?
