crf230f are not the quikest bike in the world but has a better top end it will do around 134-137km/h (qouted figure) they also produce around 19kw (rough figure)
the kx on the other hand has decent accelaration due to close ratio gearbox but will struggle around 80km/h. The 110 actually has a 116.4cc that has about 13kw (figures from current) it would all depend on the year of these bike hope this has helped in some way. ps the 230 id say would be faster judging on figures but the kx would have some serious acceleration.
no that is not true, at our shop, we put dynos on bikes everyday. a crf 450 was brought in the other day for jetting, so we dynod it at his request also. his 2007 with 10 minutes on wiseco topend, titanium valves. and stage 2 cams w megabomb header and 4.1 canister made 54.8hp at 10 500 rpm. top speed? 143kmh, (88mph) we also tested a kx 450 with stock head, and same pipe and canister, (2006) it made 51.8hp at 10 250 rpm, top speed was 136 kmh. (85mph) now the 2006 kx 450 has a 4 speed wide ratio transmission.
your trying say that a 19 hp 235 pound 230cc bike with a trail engine. goes 134-137 no. it does not. and you'd need to spend atleast 3 grand to make it go that fast.
these are two very different bikes. 1st how big are you?
2nd what kind of riding do you do.
the kx is a very fast little bike. but its small good for say a 13 to 15 year old its light great suspention. more work to maintain top end every so often
the crf 230 is a super fun bike that can be made a fair about faster. it is a full size bike will last for years with simple maintance.
both bike will run 50 to 60 mph depending on gearing
I owned a 230. Bought it just to get back on a bike. Fast enough for a begginer, especially when you re-jet,remove baffle and open the air box. It will climb a tree. I ride a crf250r now. More than enough bike to get you in trouble but still keep up with your buddies. I have scares to prove it. Price wise about $1000 differance on 2005 models. That may be an issue. If this is going to turn in to more than a hobby, go with the 250. It will take a long time to grow out of it.
is there even such thing as a KX110? there's no way xD try klx110, it's a thumper. so u can't deside on big thumper or little thumper, i say big thumper man, the 230s are nice and quick but my KX250 is quicker xD
