Wow, if the response to this poll is any indication - 250 four strokes -, then the manufacturers that have 250 four strokes for sale are in for a boom. But I wonder will that be at the expense of 125 sales, 450 sales, or something else?
Interesting to see that the Yamaha and Honda are so popular. I guess that the Yamaha is proven reliable, the Honda has a big brother which is reliable, but the KX & RM are yet to stand the test of time.
With the first round of the supercross over, and KTM being pretty much the only 2 strokes left, they must really be feeling the pressure to produce a competitive 250cc thumper now.
Whoops, I forgot the Husqvarna! Have they even got a 4 stroke MX bike? It doesn't look like it from their website. Their TE 250 is meant to be pretty good, but it comes with lights and is registerable.
I can't wait to see what KTM, Husqvarna, Husaberg and even VOR come up with to compete in this very hotly contested class!
The 250 four stroke is the mo
The 250 four stroke is the most versitile bike i've ever riden
it is very responsive. It also weighs around the 250 two stoke weight so you can throw it around like a rag doll, a ballanced power curve that suits supercross and motocross racing. Allround a bike if not to buy at least ride one to say u have.
Far coment
But is the 125s just going 2 slip out the back door? if so why?
250 four strokes
I ride the XR250 (270cc) and it is heaps of fun. Word from a guy I know who races enduro and has done for years and years; the 250's get enough usable power to the ground, and can be thrown around easily enough to beat the 400-450's for riders at the same level of experience. Gyroscopic effect of bigger engines makes the bike more difficult to turn. And they are heavier anyway.
2 strokes r better
2 strikes will always have an advantage over 4 strokes
4 strokes r way better
i dont see how u can say that 2 strokes r faster then 4 when they been killin the 2 strokes in all the races..
2 strokes arent exactly BETTE
2 strokes arent exactly BETTER than four strokes...they have their strong points. 2 strokes of the same displacement can give out roughly twice the power of a four stroke but they have to rev pretty high vs a four stroke. Four strokes also require less maintanence and last longer. If im wrong please correct me this is my first post and im still learning myself. not trying to to be a smart mouth :)
Anyway..Im sort of worried about something i havent measured in a while but im about 6 foot and around 180 or 190 and i have a ttr-125 it feels ok but i hear its nto a full size bike ..and was wondering if a 250 FOUR STROKE Would be a better size :/ im sort of a newb hehe so be gentle
you are young but you will learn!well you aint wrong!!
Hello mate, just read your message and to me you sond like a fair guy!at last someone admits that he DOSE NOT know every thing 10 out of 10 to you!!your right about the power issue, any one who understands how a 2stroke and 4stroke engine works will know y that is!(you numb nuts who dont please ask your spanner monkey!)
