I own a crf 230 and its a fine bike. Its not great for jumping and its not ment to be. Its an off road bike. It will do what you want it to but don't expect it to compete with a 6,000 dollar race bike. Its suspension is not inverted and it relies purely on springs in the front. The back suspention does not balence well with the front off of jumps. and the suspension is probley to soft for riders over 155 pounds. its not a slow bike when it gets up to speed but it is deffinetly no supercrosser when it comes to acceleration. I changed the gear ratio on mine to improve this though it did lower the top speed because of the rev limiter. I would say the bike is a good introductory bike to track or trail riding and is a good step up from a TTR 125 or CRF 150. If you ride dirk bikes and are confortable with them i wouldnt say that this is the bike for you unless youre willing to spend a little money on modifications for power and suspension. Hope that gives you a good idea of what the bike is about.
and thanks for reading, hope it helped.
i go to the desert all the time with my crf 230 and it does just fine for me the only thing to me that this bike needs is a pipe and a new rev box couse the torqe is a little bit low but i jump dunes and stuff with it and for the most part its good even though it is meant to be trail ridden
ok first of all ride gear never has anything in stock and second they take forever to shit. the best site out there it btosports.com. they have tons of wicked deals and they shit super fast.
everything you said about the bike is right except that when it comes to modifying the bike. you make it it a prett wicked bike and still not spend as much as you would on a stock race bike. also it really isnt that bad for jumping or speed. i am 160 pounds and half done tons of fairly large jumps with it never once bottoming out. the front is a little soft but as long as your weight is a little back its fine. as for the speed it goes great. dont expect it to accelerate like a race bike but once it gets going its pretty fast. so if your looking for a pretty good do anything bike and willing to spend a little money to make it better then this is the bike for you
I have a cr250 and my friend has a kx250 and when we jump this 60ft double we had no problem we were doin backflips and tail whips and stuff but when tha track owners son a (230 rider) tried he snaped his frame in half and broke both legs cause it bottomed out...Other than that they r good trail bikes if u suck at ridin like a beginner or summin like that, they are rly slow and pretty weak in tha motor department. But if u cant handle a two stroke or even a little crf250r then that would be a great bike, but i would stick to honda or kawasaki they r very dependable and fast and they will just take wat ever you throw at them!!!
How old are you cause those jumps r like wat my mom jumps??? U did like no tricks either u just jumped stright and landed stright and those hills r nothing i could like climb them on my neigbors pw80 and thats sad. If u want to see some real jumps my friends track has like a couple 60ft doubles and a few tripples which r no telling how far apart and thats where we ride alot, it awesome when u get that high and far, then u start adding tricks to it like backflips and tailwhips and K.O.D.'s
i have a 2005 crf 230f and it is anything but slow, i will agree that it wouldent be a great choice for mx(considerind it costs around 3500 and mx bikes around 6000 and its suspension is too soft), but it could be in the top 3 trail bikes!! i will alos agree that it isent great for jumping. if u had a stiff mx suspension (good for jumping) u would get bounced around on the rough trails, but the 230's suspension is great for trails.
idk what 60 kg's r in lbs. but i weigh aboul 135 and i am 14 and the CRF230F has made an AWESOMW 1st bike.
if u r lookin for an awesome mx the suzuki rm-z 450 isent a bad choice. my dad has one and it flies!!! though i/ve herd that the cfr 450 and yz r faster, i want to see results for myself.
the crf250x is a great off-road bike but it is still sumwhat built ike a motocross bike, the crf230 is an awesome enduro/ cross county race bike it is really the only bike that can keep with a ktm, i should know i race a crf230 enduro style
I got the 230 I first used it with the stock exaust and i clocked her at 130 KM/H Then I bought the FMF Exaust then i clocked her again at 140 KM/H I passed a YZ250F. I prefer the FMF Exaust. The suspension you can get the high preformance for them i added that to her and she never bottomed out of a 20 Ft drop so mine is the best one i'v seen yet at flying a jump
I Had A XR100R First And I Got Used To That First And i Switched To A CRF230F It Got 10X More Power i Can Go Along And Hall A Cat Wak In 4 gear No Problem And Go Pass Cars On The High way Doing 110 KM/H There Fast But Now, I Have FMF Exauset For her And High Preformance So That Makes A Little Diffrence The Only Thing Ya Gotta Worry About. Is Her Coming Back On Ya.
If The CR80R Can pass You On The CRF230F Then Yu Gotta Learn How To Drive Her i Got 140 KM/H Outta Mine And If You Don't Belive Get Someone To Show Ya How To Do It.
hey guys my mate has a kx 100 and i am gettin a crf 230. wat do u think would win out of these 2 bikes over a distance of 1 mile. and also wat do u think about the crf 230?
why would anyone buy a trail bike for jumps? the 230 bottoms out because the suspenssion is ment for smooth riding"through trails"! so if you are up for jumpin crap.. move up to motocross bikes.. or upgrade to some real suspention.
ur a jackass ur not supposed to jump a 230 its a damn woods bike not a fuckin motorcross bikee, the shock amd fork are meant for trail ridin on a woods bike the YZs have stiffer forks so they can jump if u jump a trail bike that high then i guess ill c u in the obituary\
bullshit
m8 i have 1 and they cant jump at all. u would have 2 be a fuck stick to jump 1 you would break ur legs.
It truely depends on what your opinion of a good jumping bike is
I own a crf 230 and its a fine bike. Its not great for jumping and its not ment to be. Its an off road bike. suspension
what would be the best suspension for the crf 230 couse it does bottom out and it gets old but how much would i have to spend on suspension for it
suspension upgrade
for about $180 you can buy BBR fork springs and and shock spring. they are 30% stiffer than stock.
ridegear
ok first of all ride gear never has anything in stock and second they take forever to shit. the best site out there it btosports.com. they have tons of wicked deals and they shit super fast.
i agree but...
