Last Wednesday I purchased a '94 cr125. Of course, it ran great sitting on the dealers lot. But when I got home I noticed that it started to idle a little rough. But now, it wont idle at all. That's not the only problem. After maybe 15 minutes of riding, the bike just randomly loses power and will not start up again. At first, I figured I had mixed the fuel wrong and fouled the plug. (I haven't had a two stroke in a very long time). But after calling a Honda dealer I found out the fuel mixture was right. But anyways, I went and bought another plug and it fired up on the first kick. Today I was riding and it totally died again. What could be doing this? I'm not a two stroke expert, so any help would be really appreciated.
Could be dirt in the carb If
Could be dirt in the carb If it was lying up for long you should clean it out its pretty straght forward when it happend to me it was because a bit of dirt was stuck in the jet and it was making my bike run crap and cut out when idleing. Even if its not the carb you should still give it a clean. Also clean the airfilter after every ride.
alright, i'll give that a try
alright, i'll give that a try. thanks for your help!
the carb is fine.. your fouling plugs...
you have to get the carb set right .... i know you think it should be already set right from honda but its not.... i bought a bran new cr 85 and it did the samething..... and you cannot let them idle.. it will just keep doing it.... ride in the power and see if it goes longer withoug fouling... and remember if it dies and you change the plug and it runs agian than you just found your problem dont go taking apart your carb unless your gonna rejet it.....
use good oil -klotz 40:1 se
use good oil -klotz 40:1
see how it does
then worry about the jets
if you mix the oil right and it is jetted right it will idle fine-- any bike!!!
they are set rich and pre mix is rich from the factory
not every rider is the same--- but the machene should run the same
a tan color on the plug
