World Motocross Championship
In Germany, Mickael Pichon wrapped up the 2002 250cc Motocross World
Championship. The Suzuki-riding Frenchman clinched his seventh Grand Prix
victory in a row. Australia's Andrew McFarlane is currently 8th in the
Championship, having earned a further 10 points towards his campaign on the

Supermoto
Round 2 of the 2002 FIM Supermoto World Championship takes place at
Valkenswaard in the Netherlands this weekend. Read a preview of the second

Round 4, ADB Thumper Nationals
It was a clean sweep for Craig Anderson at Wonthaggi, Victoria, yesterday,
winning all three Pro Open races in Round 4 of the 2002 ADB Thumper
Nationals. Anderson now leads by 54 points with two Rounds to go. In the
Pro Lites, Troy Carroll maintained his strong lead by winning two of three
races. In the Motul Women's Cup, Tamara Fern won all three races but
Ricky Carmichael is the 2002 AMA 250cc National Champion!
250 class: Ricky Carmichael won the overall, the 250 championship, and the
eighth national championship of his career today. RC has dominated 2002,
winning 21 out of 26 events so far this year. 11 main events in supercross,
and 10 straight overalls in outdoor motocross. 20 straight moto wins! Ricky
has now won 2 titles this year, the AMA/EA Sports 250 Supercross Series,
and the AMA/Chevy Trucks 250 U. S. Motocross Series.
Second overall went to Ezra Lusk with finishes of 4/3, and Sebastien
Tortelli was third overall with a 3/4.

Hello to all,
This newsletter has been a long time coming and there has been heaps
happening behind the Supermotard scene in Australia.
For starters in case you have had your head buried in the sand, the World
Supermoto Championships are coming to Australia on 9 ? 10 November at
Broadford. After having a successful European Championship for a couple of
years, Youthstream, a promoter, has taken on the task of bringing the SM to
I entered in my first GTEC Dirt Bike round on the weekend of the 28th of July. It was Round 4 was a 3 hour Pony XXXpress.
For those not in the know, the Pony XXXpress bit meant that after every lap, you had to shut off the bike, push it about 20 metres, and then take a clothes peg off your bike, and put it on your race partners bike. Your race partner then roosts off into the distance for a time, before coming back, pushing, and putting the peg onto your bike, at which time you go roosting off, and so on.
