Ummm, i have a 2004 Crf150f, and i have it jetted and the baffle is out, and the air box thingy is off too, i was wondering how much difference it would make to put an exhaust system on it. Oh and i might put stiffer shocks in too, is that worth it? Thanks

to a point it is worth it but once you start sppending some big bucks on it its cheaper to sell it and buy an 85 it would be way faster to.

Your just a better rider than ur friend sx85 would kill one of them IMO. What age and hight are you, you could be better off going for a 125?

crf250x

Well i'm 14 years old, and have been riding for 7 years. I am 5'6" and weigh 120 pounds. I have been thinking about getting a crf250x, because i don't race, i just ride trail, but i do have a dirtbike track at my house, so i need something that has a little zip to it. My dad has a drz250, and i love how smooth it is, but i need to grow a little, cuz i can barly touch! So i'll probably wait untill next summer to get a 250x. Oh, and my buddy has a stock 03 or 04 ktm 85, and i have jetted my bike, and took the baffle out, and i can drag my dad, and he doesn't beat me by that much at all, considering i have a 150 and he has a 250.

can i ask wat everyone thinks

can i ask wat everyone thinks jetting does to their bike? stock jetting is dialed for the bike and if u dont change anything then why are u changing jetting? all you do is run into overheating issues and your crf150f is air cooled isnt it which mean you wont even notice any overheating problems until too late. also by changing your jetting i assume you are running leaner which is kinda destructive. however all this change in jetting is acceptable for a Honda because they come a little rich from the factory trying to keep up with the indestructibilitly of a Honda. also if you have been riding for 7 years you should definately be lookin at something like a crf250r or rmz250. you will be much much happier with these bikes than an X series trail bike. i use my rmz250 on the trails all the time and its not true how people say that you need to ride in the higher rpm's. you should but if you drop off for a sec nothing bad is going to happen because these bikes have infinite power. for example i can be seriously dogging my bike, like to the point of where it sounds like its gonna stall. im in 3rd gear at like 10mph. ya real slow and a high gear dont mix. but then i can twist the throttle like half way and the engine cleans up instantly and smashes out a huge wheelie if i want. i tried to ride my friends 400ex quad like this and it doesnt work lol. so ya think about a race bike.

yeah, jetting does more than

yeah, jetting does more than you think, like i can pull a wheelie up in 3rd gear about as easy as i used to in 2nd gear. It helps alot, and i check everything like, every time i ride it, and the plug is burning fine, and the engine isn't getting too hot.

tigmaster, the rmz 250 is a 4 stroke. 4 strokes build the most power at lower rpm where as 2 strokes you have to rev to get power. That is why people say that you have to keep the rpm up. when people say you need to rev race bikes they are probly talking about 2 strokes

huh

By the time you modify your bike with a high dollar exhaust and stiffer springs you will have spent so much on something little. My opinion is to either spend the same amount and get a crf150r or just go to a two stroke 85.

i don't know man, i can get t

i don't know man, i can get the pipe AND the susension (which i might not get the suspension anyway) for about 400 bucks, and if i sold my bike and bought a new one, i would spend about 2 grand...
