hey guys i just bought a 85 yz125 it was pretty rough but i got it for $700.00 . the guy i bought it from had painted the plastics yellow with a paint brush!!!! can you belive that ___! and it was missing the idel screw on the mikuni carb. I just put yamaha blue plastics on it and orderd the idel screw for the carb. it ran the day i test drove it but would not idel . so i hope the idel screw fixes that .. it has been about 12 years since i have been on a dirt bike but i remember how much fun it was so im looking to get back in the game!!! and ride it like i stole it ...... I just changed the trans. fluid with castrol full synthetic. I did notice that it smokes pretty bad out the exsaust!!!! im mixing 32.to 1 . i dont know if thats why ? or if its a sign of major problems? if anyone can help with the smoking thing ,or any pointers on YZ125, i would be gratefull , THANKS . ya 32:1 is a bit rich. i would suggest 40:1 and a rejet to go along with the change. also just for everyones information because i get this a lot. if a 2 stroke is smoking, that is no indication of ring wear. 2 strokes burn oil all the time.

you might not want to put full synthetic oil in your trans because it could make it slip if you abuse the clutch

im a yz maniac too, yeah hes def right on that 40:1 ratio make sure you get rich gas for the bike, and i highly suggest golden spectro oil....
