hey my name is erik and im 15 and weigh 160 pounds and am 6'0.i was wondering which bike to start with.i have no experience riding dirtbikes,but my dad has 2 fourwheelers and i ride them all the time.i would prefer a 2stroke and my buddy(who is into dirtbiking)suggests i should get a yz 125.im just wondering what u guys think and if a 125 would be appropriate to me.thanks alot
125 or 250 f
125's are great because younger people can ride them and since they got a ton of power so can bigger people. IN B.C. they soposedly get stolen more than 250's do because of that. If you got the money you should try to test a 4 stroke 250 and see how you like those (but i would go with a 125 there plaenty fast and they sound awesome). i weigh 140 and got a rm 125 and its great.

well i really dont care what kind of 125 i get,they are all good in my opinion,but i was just thinking yamaha because they always win the 2 stroke 125 shootouts in mags but i guess its all personaly preference.i was originaly gunna get a honda cr 125 but i dunno whatevr i can get cheaper

well i love honda for their 4 strokes i personally wouldnt get a 2 stroke honda honda is kinda behind in their 2 strokes but thats b/c they r concentrating on the 4 strokes and it shows. their 4 strokes are like no others. i have the crf250r and i love it. it has great power throughout low to high ranges and handles great. its not the new '06 crf250r its a '04. i can only imagine what the '06 is like.

most of the guys from the shootouts choose thier bike from the handlebar bend and the grip of the seat. U r right it doesnt matter wat kinda bike because there all great. Just when u buy a bike make sure u check over everthing if its used. u dont wanna buy it then spend anouther grand trying to make it run again.
2 stroke 125 NO Honda!!
Honda is definitely slacking on the CR 125, friend of mine has a 2006 and it definitely gets up to speed quickly, as 2 strokes do, but top end there's nothing! My brother has a 2005 YZ 125 much better!! When it comes right down to it none of them really suck it just depends on what you're looking for exactly. Just do your homework before you buy. If you're going to be hitting alot of trails go with a 4 stroke.
