Lowering a WR250F

Has anybody done this themselves?

What do you have to do to the suspension to lower it at the front? Do they put a spacer in somehow? What about at the rear? Same thing, or a different ratio link?

If you've had it done by a shop, how much did it cost? Did they dial the rest of the suspension for your weight at the same time?

Enquiring minds need to know ;-)

wr250f lowering

I have not been able to find anyone that makes lowering links for this bike.I have been successful at lowering a wr250f with a short spring in the shock between the valving and the sealhead.A top-out spring from a kyb fork works well for gaining about 1.5".The forks can just be raised in the triple clamps a little so the bike isn't "choppered" out. This is the least expensive way to handle the forks but the best way is to install either a longer top-out spring or add a short spacer. The length of the spacer has a direct affect on how much lower the forks will be.The other advantage of this mod is that the bike will turn better on flat, hard turns.By the way , I run a company called Cycle Dynamics. The email address is cycledynamicsinc@yahoo.com.The website is cycledynamics.net

WR 250 Lowering Link

My name is Matt and I work for a Yamaha dealer in Idaho. We've been developing a link that lowers all WR's and YZ's 2". The link replaces the stock lower link on the rear shock. It is CNC machined from aluminum and comes with all bearings and seals for quick and easy install and removal. We are still in the testing process but it looks like we're almost ready to release a few for guys to try. We haven't nailed down a price yet but will soon. Reply at mmssales@usamedia.tv or call 208-476-3024. Thanks
