Jetting Your WR250F

There have been a few comments about Jetting a WR250F lately, Let us know what jetting you run, and what, if any mods you have made.

I've got a Staintune full system, and with the large "baffle" end in to quieten it down, I've settled on a 172 main, and it will wheelie great in 4th gear, 5th at 120km/h if you pull on the bars. Scares the crap outta the 400/426 guys when you wheelie past at that speed Hehehe.

I've also got a more restrictive "baffle" to quieten it down further, and tried a 170 with that in, but it definitely knocks the performance back a little. I might try the 168 again and see how that goes.

Throttle Stop

It's a small black screw in the side of the carb. Take it out and cut 6mm off it and then you'll have another 1/4 throttle.

02 WR250F Jetting

I tried a 180 Main Jet (YZ250F Stock), all I got was a grade off, more top end for less bottom.

The next thing I'll try is a stock YZ Needle, with a 180 Main Jet and a 42 Pilot Jet (this was a setup from a Pro's bike)

The only thing that sux thou is reading thru http://www.thumperfaq.com/jetting.htm it seems it is alot of trial and error to get it right.

Cutting the Grey wire.

The grey wire is the rev-limiter. cut this and shorten the throttle stop and with the exception fo the heavier cam you will have the same performance as the yz250

cut 10 mm off and now its like a yz throttle stop. take the wire out of the plug dont cut you might need to plug it back in sometime.

yeah

if its an 02 or older you can change your cam timing the the yz spec if its newer than that you have to buy the yz cam. but as of right now you have more top end power than the yz with the cam timing the way it is but less low end hit
