CR80/85

I just bought a 99 CR80 engine. The guy I got it from said it has low compresion. My question is, can the cylinder be bored to use the CR85 piston without any problems? Or is the stock cylinder plated with something and can't be bored. Also, if the 80 cylinder can't be bored, will the CR85 cylinder, piston and head bolt on to the CR80 block? This engine is going to be used for an on road racing bike.

Thanks
