I was wondering what the engine compression for a 1999 YZ 250 is. I misplaced the manual for the bike and need to figure out if it is time for a new piston and rings.
if you not used to starting a 250 it can be quite hard to start when the pisston is at its highest compression point its almost solid u can n put a lot of weight on it if it ain then id check ya bore for score if thats sweet
then slap a piston kit in it...even if u got a lot of pressure id change it anyway it will save u a lot of cash n heartache...been there got the ticket...be carefull who u let do ya rebores i had a cowboy do mine an he fucked it up tryin to hone the bore with a cordless drill and a grinding ball....totall wanker...change ya rings regularly and you should be fine..
Ride it like u stole
