Well, for starters I know nothing about dirtbikes. I want something to ride around my acres on and do some jumps, stuff like that. I want it to be fast though. My cousin has a 100 (whatever that means) and I rode it and I liked it. But he also had a 70 that I rode and I liked the way it handled better. I don't know anything about them except for their colors and that they called them 100s and 70s. I want something that's not too expensive but runs good. I'm about 5' 6" and I'm 14. Any suggestions about what kind of bike I should get?
if i were u i would get a crf
if i were u i would get a crf 150 its big but not to big, and has enough power for u. or u could get a ttr 125 but the crf 150 would last u longer plus u get 25 more ccs so i would go wit that crf 150. u wount be disopointed. itl be a little fast at first since all u have rode is that 70 and 100 but u will grow into it well
Thanks
Ok, thank you much.
i think a crf150 would be a j
i think a crf150 would be a joke for you. try lookin in to a yz85 or kx85 or rm85. they are a great 2 stroke bike with loads of power and could easily beat a crf150 but they are about the same size as a crf150
Ok...
Ok.. Probly sounds like a stupid question to you but, what does a 2 stroke mean? And how much does one of these bikes run? And what make (or brand whatever, yamaha, honda etc.) do you think is the best? What website would be best to find one on?
2 stroke is a type of engine
2 stroke is a type of engine 4 stroke is another. there is a war between which is better 2 or 4 but i believe 2 strokes are better. 2 strokes rev higher and if you have a 4 stroke and 2 stroke with the same size engine the 2 stroke will have twice the power. thats why the 85 cc bikes i listed before, (yes thats wat the number in the bikes name is its the size (displacement) of the engine and as a general rule of thumb if there is an f in the name its a 4 stroke) anyway thats why a 85cc (cc = cubic centimeters or displacement of the engine) is way faster than a 150 4 stroke. no matter how inexperienced you are never buy a 150 4 stroke cuz it will never be enough power. try lookin at a yamaha yz85 or a suzuki rm85, yamaha is prob the better bike but suzuki is faster. just go to yamaha.com or suzuki.com these bikes new will cost bout $3100 if you have anymore questions just ask me
ya the 85 would be a great bi
ya the 85 would be a great bike but it has way to much power for a person who has barely any experence get the crf 150 than get an 85 2 stroke , he is right though the honda 150 cant beat an 85 2 stroke but u need to learn how to use a clutch on a bike that is fast but not to fast. the 85 2 stroke u need to constinlny shift right or u will crash or the bike will die and since u dont have realy any experince learn to crawl than walk than run if u know what im saying
if i were you i wold get a 15
if i were you i wold get a 150 honda (red) or a 230 honda.
Ok.
Ok, thanks for the answers you guys! :) Just one more. Is there anything imparticular that I would want to stay away from when I but a dirtbike? Especially if it's used. What are some things I need to look at to see weather or not I'd need to buy that bike?
Well dont buy suzuki or honda
Well dont buy suzuki or honda if u are goin from the 2stroke range all rms blow up with ease my friend went trough 4 all blew up and my other friend went trough 2 blew up too. if u look at travis pastrana on the Erzingberg enduro he was near the end what happend to the bike it was a rm it blew up. rm's have a big habbit of doin that. em just look out for the normal wear of a bike like chain sprockets, wheels, bearings, any funny sounds outa the engine ask him when it last had a piston change and stuff like that also if parts are wore ask him to drop the price a bit so u can get the parts for it .
Ok, question.
Ok, I'm not a fan of Suzukies anyway. Lol. and yet another stupid sounding question. What is a CDI?
GET THE CRF 150....
YOU SHOULD GET THE CRF 150 I HAVE ONE ITS A GOOD BEGGINNER BIKE AND GOOD FOR YOUR AGE AND HEIGHT....IM 14 ALSO AND IM 5,6 TOO AND ITS PERFECT FOR ME...YAMAHA IS A GOOD BRAND BUT IF YOU GET THE TTR 125 YOU ARE GOING TO OUT GROW IT FASTER THAN THE CRF150...YOU SHOULDNT GET THE YZ85 IF YOU DONT HAVE ALOT OF EXPERIENCE JUST BEACAUSE ITS A BIT FASTER THAN THE CRF150...SO GO WITH THE CRF150...

Ok, thanks!

I'm looking for pink plastics also. If you find any, please tell me where!!
better
whats better crf150r expert or cr85 expert
Help finding a dirtbike.
Well first you need to know wether the 100 was a 2 stroke or 4. Because if i tell u to get a 4 and u do but what you originaly rode was like a kx 100 2 stroke then youwould get on the 4 stroke 100 and it will feel realy slow so uour 14 like me i sugest you buy a 100 2 stroke or getn a 2 stroke 125 but lower the suspention im 14 and i ride a 91 rm 125 and it pisses.
go for crf 150
Honestly i think if you are riding in ur acreage and are doing some small to moderate jumps this is your bike. all these guys are sayin that you should go for a two stroke but they are thinking for themselves. if ur a new rider wether u wanna hear it or not you probly wont b able to handle a 2 stroke. the other thing u wanna look at is wether you wanna get a crf 150r or crf 150f. r-racing model f- true 4 stroke and wonderful trail and minor jumping bike
i hav riden both
i hav not heard of a suzuki blowing up but i havnt raced em so i wont comment on that
o 1 last thing the f version weights 225 pounds while the r version weighs 170
the f is a little easier to maintain and less expensive while the r is faster lighter and more agile!
hav fun pickin it out
Good call...
Well said blackwell, i have a crf150f, (that's the trail model), and i love it, it is a good starter bike, and it is easy to make have more power, but you wouldn't have to worry about that untill you grew some more. I have mine pretty tricked out, mine can keep right with an 85 2 stroke, cuz i jetted it and put aftermarket exhaust on it, and that cost about 280 bucks. A new crf150f is like 3 grand, but i would get a used one cuz then you don't have to worry about laying it over so much, and it will cut the price down alot. I got my bike for 1900 bucks, and the guy that had it only put like 20 hours on it... Yeah i would totaly go for the 150, especialy since you are going to trail ride, and it does good on the jumps too, (i have a track at my house) The 150 is really smooth compared to the 2 strokes. If you did want to get a 2 stroke, you might want to wait untill you get used to dirtbikes, and then you can buy a 2 stroke and tear it up!!!
try a four wheeler...
I have a 350 banshee (a fast 2-stroke 2 wheel drive quad) and if you have any woods or hills or small jumps or creeks or pastures or.. well you get the point, then you might try a four wheeler. I am sure I will get a lot of flak for this but you can ride all day, and still get up and walk the next morning. Now a banshee is not a beginners quad but there are just as many quads to choose from as bikes. If I would pick a new quad it would be a newer four stroke with reverse and at least 400cc and NOT 4 wheel drive. But I also own a kx100 (which is a dirt bike), for a week now, and I love it. Almost feels as fast as my 05' banshee did when it was new out of the box. Sorry if I prolonged your descision.
about the quad and crf 150f
i love quads as well as the neext guy man buut u have to admit that it is extremely hard for cutting trails
hey the guy who posted the one about the crf150f that he has can u tell me what exhaust u put on and where u got it
i have a crf150f as well as a 85 and would like to soup up my 150
250$ for a new exhaust system is amazing thx
Hey blackwell...
Hey, about that exhaust, i got a big gun evo mini for my crf150f and thats like 260-280 bucks, and with that i got a new main jet (it goes in your carb) it's like a 112 instead of a 98 or something like that. you can get both the exhaust and jets off bikebandit.com. It's a great site, but it does take a while to ship, because the exhaust get's back ordered (because they don't have it in stock) but they always get it to you...
Oh yeah, the exhaust is a ful
Oh yeah, the exhaust is a full system, not just the silencer, and it retails for like $280, but off bikebandit.com it's like $260. If you have any more q's, just email me at biker97_92@hotmail.com
(Besides putting jets and an exhaust on it, i put factory 909 handlebars on it too, and i love the way it feels now)
