My 9 year old son is on the verge of outr growing his PW80. We would like to put him into racing and want to know what the differences are between these bikes if there are any. Bottom line which is better?
Im 13 and highly doubt your son would be able to handle an 85 unless hes the next Ricky Carmichael I would say get your son a kx 65 or a ktm 65 both are racing bikes and r really fast there very flickable in the air really light and really fast the choice is yours but those r my suggestions.......
get the yz 85 but...the pw 80 is a 4 stroke and the yz 85 is a 2 stroke there is a big diferrence...the yz 85 has more than double the power of a pw80 a yz 85is a like a 160 4 stroke
if u wanna get him into racin get the ktm cuz there way lighter, and ktm's r known for there great engines, plus they come stock with some many mods like a pipe, ktm's are also usually way more expensive but u could prob find a deal. dont get me wrong i love yamaha and am in the process of buyin a yz125 but i would get a ktm if i could find a good one. look at the specs of a ktm 85sx and those of a yz85 an yull be suprised
I don't think he will have a problem as he also rides my wife's TTR 125 when ever she isn't on it. I should also mention he is 125 lbs plays hockey 3-4 times a week in winter and lacross in the summer. Size and strength isn't a problem but the 65 is a little small for him size wise.
Well im 13
