um well thats almost yur pref. if u raced motox then the manufacture suggests every 5 races needs a new top end but thats crap, no one has that much money. u could prob easily go 6 months to a year without a change and prob still have exactly the same compression. ive seen bike that havent had a top end in 3 years that start right up on the first kick. usually the bigger the bike the longer u can go without replacing it. its mostly jus yur pref, if u think the bike is gettin harder to start or loosing power and its been a while since yur last top end the its prob time.
Yeah 125s easy to keep but you really do have to get your top end done every 6 months especially if its a 125 or under cause once they start to lose power they do. you wont notic the diff at first but once you become a better rider on the bike and you are pulling everything out of them you want that power there. My friend changes his tyre after ever race or day out i uses to look and think what a waste but now im nearly doing it all the time too because you start to want the best out of your bike.
