i cant find prices for a GYT-R exhaust for a 2004 350 raptor, i live in southwestern ontario, if anyone knows of a place please tell, and if anyone knows the approx. canadian price, please share!
i have one for my YFZ450 and its the full kit i payed $375.35 from the yamaha dealer so it should not be that much or or less..and the exaust kit will add 5.2hp and 3lbs tork
375$?? seems alittle cheap, ur sure thats canadian?? for the full exhaust only 5hp? for the raptor is says over 25%, gets me more like 6.5, touch more maybe
but ur sure that price is full exhaust canadian? im sorry, but that just seems like wwaayy to good a price to me
yes that is what i payed for it i have it on my quad, ok i have the book from the dealer if front of me for the raptor 350 and the is about 370.00 and that includes the muffler, mount, spark arrester, and the exaust plug....what is your email address and ill send you all the information you need...
well i hope the information helped...and yes they are the prices for canada..and if you go and get the parts you want and the place you go wants more then kick them in the balls b/c their cheating you out of money.....
i'm waiting till this winter to get it, i just thought i better read up on it now, but i got another question, apparently you can gain 4-5 more horse-power simply by removing the baffle at the end of the exhaust pipe, not to mention you get a sweet sound! but do you actually get the gain in horsepower? and heres another one, a guy told me not to get a K&N air filter cuz it is bad for my machine, apparently it lets alot of dust into the engine, is this true too?
well yes a k&n air filter does let dirt in but it lets the same amount in as any other filter. but what make a k&n filter better than the rest is that it lets more air in b/c it has more of a spongy material in it, more air but less dirt. yeah i know doesn't make sence but its true..so go with the k&n..but the first ? you asked, yes by removing the baffel will give you more horse power like 1 or 2 more depending on if you have any other upgrades to the motor, but its gives you more compresson than horse power which means more the compresson more the torque.this happens b/c your letting more air escape from the exaust...hey you have a 350 raptor right well i have a friend that has a hopped up one, ill send you a video and pic of it and you'll see what you can really do with these 350's
i have dialup so that movie will be a bitch to load, but im intersested so im gonna anyways. k thanks, i think i change my mind again, i'l still get the k&n, but wow, only 1-2 horse? thats dissapointing, but i removed the baffle, and i see wat u mean about torque, big difference! now im super excited about wat a full performance exhaust will do! but speaking of that... u must be damn sick of my questions, i got alot to learn yet... but, um, would dynojet be the way to go? or should i go with a GYT-R jet kit, i hear great things about dynojet. Also, IS gyt-r the way to go, the price is better than others like FMF or big gun, but is the power increase as good? they say it is, but i figure i better know exactly wat im buying, might as well learn it from somone who knows ther stuff. anyways, thanks for taking your time for answering my questions, and send that video of that 350!
hey man i like someone that likes to learn a little, but dyno jet kits are really good i have the GTYR kit in my qaud, but man its up to you, but if i were you i would get the GTYR kit sence the exaust kit from GTYR will work better with it and plus with them working together you will have a really fast 350. but if you get the jet kit, the exaust kit, the CDI that increase your rev limit to 10621.2rpms plus the stroker kit from GTYR that come with everything for the top end. in terms that mean with all the parts that i just said about you will be pushin about 48-51hp to the wheels, i just got the stoker kit and the CDI that took me to 12000rpms and im at about 73.63hp to the wheels. but yeah i have ridin a lot, well pretty much everything that is rideable with all that good stuff like pro circit, fmf, dmf, hell you name it iv road it...lol. and be honest with you GTYR is the best production parts that i have seen on bikes and quads so yeah i would say it is the way to go, but like i said before everyone has their own opinion. but you need anything just ask.
SHIT! really?! 50horses! thats more than a stock YFZ or raptor. and a HUGE difference from the 350's stock 27.3. wow, that GYT-R air filter is a rippoff though, 50 buck for an air filter, and you have to get the adapter separate for another 50? do you think the gyt-r jet kit would work just as well with a K&N filter??
and a stroker kit? im not sure they have one for the 350... and im not sure i could install it... holy, wow, i didnt think that engine could put out that kind of rpm's! and the dynojet kit is cheaper... so, i dunno, i dont have alot of money, im only 15, but my friend has a YZ-426, and i can hardly ride with im cuz i cant keep up, so im kinda torn between the cheaper parts, or the ones suggested... can u tell me about this stroker kit? wat it does and wat it costs? and if an amature like me could install it? and mother... holy shit! 73 horses?! your insane! anyways, thanks again, later,
hey i know what it is like not have that much money but i can tell ya some cheep tricks that will alone add you about 5-26 horses but first yes around 50 horses you can push out off that 350 and even more, hell if you really had the money maybe 100hp but thats more for draging..lol..but thats to much..but yeah the GTYR airfilter is expensive but its worth it..and yes the jet kit will work with the k&n filter, and the stroker kit, all it is, is the top portion of the engine, its purpose is, well lets say it save you from shavin the head and all that crazy shit...but its like $1700, yeah i was saving up to get mine...but mine was $2300 yeah the girlfriend didn't like that to much...lol..but any way yeah you can do it yourself it comes with derections so if you can turn a wrench you can in stall it...but back to the cheep tricks sence money is tight and i know what it is like so trust me...but what im about to tell you is sorta a secret many drag racers use these tricks to get more horse power for different races but the bad thing is that you kinda have to know what your doing....but ill tell ya some things and have you try them and you get back to me and ill tell you some more untill that 350 starts to scare you ...lol. but any way here are some...ok first sence its a four stoke right but what many people dont know is that you can make them run like two stokes...and here is how..ok you can shave the head down anywhere from 15-40 thousanths without getting piston slap..you can port and polish the exaust port (make it look like a mirror) this alone gives you 5-10hp...ok after all that you can sworr cut the intake (this is like a little supercharger b/c it sucks the air in) this alone give you more rpm's which mean what..more horse power like 3-8hp depending on how close the sworrs are you can acheave about 14hp if done right...after that you can simply add 5-8hp by changing you spokets. so if you do every thing the right way for what i just said you got 26hp plus 14hp if the sworrs are cut right which means 32 extra horse power and about 22 foot LBS of turque...so add your stoke hp of 27.3 and your extra 32hp you know have about 60hp and thats not including the exaust kit and the jet kit (by the way you will have to adjust the jets right to) and the airfilter so you can only think what that will turn out to be and plus there more you can do. so just think about it....like i said trust me on this ive been around quads and bike my whole life and learned alot of tricks that just seem impossable but one thing that i learned its a engine hell if you want to i can tell you how to turbocharge it. you can do anything you want to an engine and trust me i have seen some crazy shit...but anyway need anything else or any other ?'s just ask...
i know wat port and polishing is, but i wouldnt know how to go about doing it. i looked on the web to see how to do it, but ther was nothing of use. and that sworr cutting seemed like i could do it, but that head shaving... i dunno... im not even sure i have the equipment to do this stuff.... but, if you wouldnt mind explaining port and polishing and sworr cutting to me, i would apreciate it, im sorry though, it seems like itll take a long time to explain... oh, and changing sprockets gives me more horses??? weird, kk, but, if you would explain it, and tell me what tools i would need... that'd be great, sorry if im incoveniencing you, but you needa learn this stuff somewhere right? might as well be from someone who knows wat they r doing, itd jsut be easier if someone could SHOW me and help be, but lol, no such luck, but sorry and thanks again
well ok then, i would show you but there are many miles between us..lol.but anyway if you have or can get a dremile you can do the following yourself...and ill send you some drawings of what im talking about. ok sworr cutting in pretty much the same as cutting a spirel in your intake port...its where the carb hooks up to the engine you can also port and polish the intake port by makeing the opening bigger and polishing it like a mirror..all this does is sworr's your air and fuel mixture and speed it up (like a tornato) so which mean the faster your air go's into the engine the cooler in gets (like a cold air intake) you can also port and polish the exaust port. this is where your exaust comes out of the engine..but you should know that..lol. but anyway by doing this the air or should i say exaust fumes has no friction b/c the port is smooth like a mirror and the exaust fumes can escape faster b/c the port is larger b/c you ported it...right now the thing i said before about the sworr cutting, you can make the cuts ferther or as close as you want, but by doing this you have to know what you want you quad to run like..i mean you can make it to where your quad will startoff slow untill you bring your rpm's then it will take off or you can make it to where as soon as you push that throttle your already doing 60mph's yes that quick...but you have to set your quad the way you want it not someone else b/c your riding it not them, get what im saying, but you tell me how you want it to run and ill tell you how. now shaving the head is pretty much the easiest thing to do...all you have to do is look around a garage's and ask if they have a milling machine to shave down heads...and if you find one it should cost you really nothing or nothing at all sence shaving a head on a quad only takes about 5- 15 mins. depending on how long it takes to set up the machine. but do this automaticlly add 5-16hp and give you anywhere from 200-400rpms so yeah you will feel a difference. but remember by doing all this, the whole time you have to keep adjusting you jets...you will adjust them more times then you change you undies and thats no shit...lol..but yeah like i said you tell me how you want it to run and ill tell you how....
yeah they say it is 281.00 but thats not including the shipping fee and if it comes all bent to hell and back 9 out of ten they wont refund your money because they'll say it was fine when they put it in the box..trust me been there done that....with a lot of parts...so now i see what im getting in person before i take it home...
well that sounds easy enough, i want to run it as FAST as i fricken CAN! you make it sound so easy, but the truth is, for me, its a REAL bitch just to get the carb off, the carb on this thing is alot more complicated than my friends yz-426 4-stroke. well, its easy to get it off, i just couldnt get the throttle cable disconnected. but ill worry about that later. Yeah, i have a guy right near me that will have a milliing machine, i know him, so he should let me do it for free, or i might ask him to do it, pay him alittle money. he gave me a oil plug for only 20$ it actually cost alot more than that... dremile? im not so sure i know wat that is...a kind of handheld grinder type thing? after the carberater, ther is a rubber tube, after the rubber tube you cut spirals? wont that get shavings in the cylinder? and yes, exhaust port is obvious... im just worried that if i screw up, it will end up costing me ALOT of money, and the idea of this is to avoid that haha, meh, it seems pretty straigtforward... so ill give it a shot... k, those pictures would be a huge help. and that video of that 350 raptor would be nice lol, my email is x_bwr_x@hotmail.com remember, k, thanks again,. ur spending alot of time on this lol, thanks
well you have to take the top end off of you quad so you dont get shavings in you head. but ill send the picture but the vidoe wont send for some reason its pissing me off
hey no prob about the video, thats not important but those drawings are alittle, and they didnt work either, but i think u know that... just do watever u did last time with those pages from the yamaha book. After that... just about all my questions are answered. lucky u lol. i am for sure going to go ahead with the port and polish and sworr cutting, but shaving the head im not sure i will... i hear that reduces reliability. cuz its not built for that kind of compression, true? or not? anyways, i never would of thought of doing this kind of stuff, thanks again, im pretty excited to get to work,
i dont wanna sound like a prick, but i could really use those sworr cutting drawings, cuz i have a rubber tube thing attatching my carb to the engine, im alittle confused, i dont know exactly wher to cut...
well thats what i was waiting for..lol..ok listen carfully because if you do this wrong it will not work. in terms means you hacked the hell out off your quad for nothing....but dont worry ill talk you thought it....ok.the grooves should be..well hold on will do it this way....if your intake is about 3-4in long from edge to the inter edge...make the cuts about 1/2in to3/4in apart and about 1/16in deep...to do this take a black marker and make marks 1/2in starting at the edge....then trace a spiral thought your intake..and make sure they are even and on the marks that you put in first...and to check the depth..i used a tooth pick cut it in two and messered 1/16in from the cut end....now when cutting cut a vary thin line, not deep, just enough to see that you are cutting straight...now keep going over it little by little intill you hit you 1/16in depth..now after you have your sworr's in and the depth is good...polish the inside like a mirror..you can dothis with the dremel as well just use the buff wheel...now after you have it like a mirror...take a clean white tee-shirt and press it inside the intake and twist it...this will take out all the little metal shaving that might still be in the grooves...yes in will destroy your shirt..but it worth it...now after it is all done...take some gas and rub the inside of the intake and let in air dry...now once this is done slap the head back on and fire it up....ok this will tell you if you done it right...if it whistel's when its ideling(adjust your jets while it is ideling to get the rpm range where you want it)you done good..but if it is not then...you get the picture...but this isnt bad it jst means you nead to set the rpm range to get the whistel.....by doing all this you will gain about 25-30% top end and about 20% bottom end...the sworr's cut that you put in acts like a supercharger....and here is one more trick...get a little fan about 4in in diamiter and put in in your airbox inside the filter.and hook it up to a little toggle switch....so when you pop your seat to look at the air filter what do you see, an air filter, but whats underneth it is what counts...so basically you will have forced air induction...whitch means HP out the ass, b/c you will have sworr cut in your intake which sucks air and fuel into your head and a fan the forces air into your head which means you will also have a cold air intake b/c the air in moving so fast it will be like ice into your motor...which is want you want a nice and cold engine....well like i said just read this carefully and you will have the meanest and fastest 350 around you area...trust me....
haha, well im glad i asked then, wouldnt it be easier to do the port and polish FIRST not AFTER the sworr cuts? cuz isnt it all uneven and stuff before the port & polish, so the 1/16 cuts might not be accurate? but anyway, it actually spins the air so fast that it whistles? that pretty surprising, but ur sure this actually works? youve done it, and have noticed a performance increase? like, haha, its proven that it works? cuz ya, i dont wanna hack the shit outta my quad and have nothing to show for it. And one more thing, you know wat a shop manual is right? do u have any idea wher i could get one? just to help with dissasembly and stuff.
well you can port and polish it first..but what i meant to say is port it then sworr cut it then polish it...and yeah the 1/16 cuts may not be accurate but get them as close as you can...and the sworr cutting does work b/c i have a vid to prove it and ill send it to you...and yes i have done it..i had a 1993 RM125 that was port and polished, sworr cut, shaved 60 thousandths, board 40 over, hot rod crank, and it was running one JP1 airplane fuel....yes it was fast to fast that i sold it b/c i knew i would kill myself on it...but yeah ill send you a vid and you can see for your self....
oh ok, just as long as it has no negative performance effects then im fine, lol. Yeah, port first, that makes more sence to me. do u no wher i could get a shop manual? im tryin to get one directly from a yamaha dealer, but im not sure thy will let me buy one. is the intake and exhaust tube straight? or is it curved? do u no?
sorry i got kicked off the internet for 2 weeks cuz of an.... incident lets say haha. ok then, well thats all i pretty much need to know right? is ther anything more that ur just waitin for me to ask for? lol
ill help
i have one for my YFZ450 and its the full kit i payed $375.35 from the yamaha dealer so it should not be that much or or less..and the exaust kit will add 5.2hp and 3lbs tork
ur sure?
375$?? seems alittle cheap, ur sure thats canadian?? for the full exhaust only 5hp? for the raptor is says over 25%, gets me more like 6.5, touch more maybe
but ur sure that price is full exhaust canadian? im sorry, but that just seems like wwaayy to good a price to me
im sure
yes that is what i payed for it i have it on my quad, ok i have the book from the dealer if front of me for the raptor 350 and the is about 370.00 and that includes the muffler, mount, spark arrester, and the exaust plug....what is your email address and ill send you all the information you need...
sry
hey, oh sry, ive been gone for awhile, they dont have canadian prices listen on canadian yamaha website... ok, its um, x_BWR_x@hotmail.com
thanks,
there ya go
well i hope the information helped...and yes they are the prices for canada..and if you go and get the parts you want and the place you go wants more then kick them in the balls b/c their cheating you out of money.....

well you have to take the top end off of you quad so you dont get shavings in you head. but ill send the picture but the vidoe wont send for some reason its pissing me off
k sweet
hey no prob about the video, thats not important but those drawings are alittle, and they didnt work either, but i think u know that... just do watever u did last time with those pages from the yamaha book. After that... just about all my questions are answered. lucky u lol. i am for sure going to go ahead with the port and polish and sworr cutting, but shaving the head im not sure i will... i hear that reduces reliability. cuz its not built for that kind of compression, true? or not? anyways, i never would of thought of doing this kind of stuff, thanks again, im pretty excited to get to work,
luck
hey man glad i could help and good luck but if you ever have any ?'s just stop by and ask.....
hey
i dont wanna sound like a prick, but i could really use those sworr cutting drawings, cuz i have a rubber tube thing attatching my carb to the engine, im alittle confused, i dont know exactly wher to cut...
um
check you e-mail its all in there...
thanks
thanks, that really helped alot. so i can get my hands on a dremile, how deep should the grooves be? and how thick?
ok
well thats what i was waiting for..lol..ok listen carfully because if you do this wrong it will not work. in terms means you hacked the hell out off your quad for nothing....but dont worry ill talk you thought it....ok.the grooves should be..well hold on will do it this way....if your intake is about 3-4in long from edge to the inter edge...make the cuts about 1/2in to3/4in apart and about 1/16in deep...to do this take a black marker and make marks 1/2in starting at the edge....then trace a spiral thought your intake..and make sure they are even and on the marks that you put in first...and to check the depth..i used a tooth pick cut it in two and messered 1/16in from the cut end....now when cutting cut a vary thin line, not deep, just enough to see that you are cutting straight...now keep going over it little by little intill you hit you 1/16in depth..now after you have your sworr's in and the depth is good...polish the inside like a mirror..you can dothis with the dremel as well just use the buff wheel...now after you have it like a mirror...take a clean white tee-shirt and press it inside the intake and twist it...this will take out all the little metal shaving that might still be in the grooves...yes in will destroy your shirt..but it worth it...now after it is all done...take some gas and rub the inside of the intake and let in air dry...now once this is done slap the head back on and fire it up....ok this will tell you if you done it right...if it whistel's when its ideling(adjust your jets while it is ideling to get the rpm range where you want it)you done good..but if it is not then...you get the picture...but this isnt bad it jst means you nead to set the rpm range to get the whistel.....by doing all this you will gain about 25-30% top end and about 20% bottom end...the sworr's cut that you put in acts like a supercharger....and here is one more trick...get a little fan about 4in in diamiter and put in in your airbox inside the filter.and hook it up to a little toggle switch....so when you pop your seat to look at the air filter what do you see, an air filter, but whats underneth it is what counts...so basically you will have forced air induction...whitch means HP out the ass, b/c you will have sworr cut in your intake which sucks air and fuel into your head and a fan the forces air into your head which means you will also have a cold air intake b/c the air in moving so fast it will be like ice into your motor...which is want you want a nice and cold engine....well like i said just read this carefully and you will have the meanest and fastest 350 around you area...trust me....
hah
haha, well im glad i asked then, wouldnt it be easier to do the port and polish FIRST not AFTER the sworr cuts? cuz isnt it all uneven and stuff before the port & polish, so the 1/16 cuts might not be accurate? but anyway, it actually spins the air so fast that it whistles? that pretty surprising, but ur sure this actually works? youve done it, and have noticed a performance increase? like, haha, its proven that it works? cuz ya, i dont wanna hack the shit outta my quad and have nothing to show for it. And one more thing, you know wat a shop manual is right? do u have any idea wher i could get one? just to help with dissasembly and stuff.
yeah it works
well you can port and polish it first..but what i meant to say is port it then sworr cut it then polish it...and yeah the 1/16 cuts may not be accurate but get them as close as you can...and the sworr cutting does work b/c i have a vid to prove it and ill send it to you...and yes i have done it..i had a 1993 RM125 that was port and polished, sworr cut, shaved 60 thousandths, board 40 over, hot rod crank, and it was running one JP1 airplane fuel....yes it was fast to fast that i sold it b/c i knew i would kill myself on it...but yeah ill send you a vid and you can see for your self....
ok
oh ok, just as long as it has no negative performance effects then im fine, lol. Yeah, port first, that makes more sence to me. do u no wher i could get a shop manual? im tryin to get one directly from a yamaha dealer, but im not sure thy will let me buy one. is the intake and exhaust tube straight? or is it curved? do u no?
yep
yeah you should be ble to get one i did..and your intake and exaust should be straight..
sry
sorry i got kicked off the internet for 2 weeks cuz of an.... incident lets say haha. ok then, well thats all i pretty much need to know right? is ther anything more that ur just waitin for me to ask for? lol
maybe
nope just waiting..
