there all so close its gonna come down to wich one is running the best and mostly the ridder... jetting is everying.... you never know.. but i like yamahas..
check out a yz125's specs and a cr125's and you'll notice that yamaha has a little edge, but racin to bikes that are almost identical, the rider matters most
Cr would take a yz anyday, if both were in same condition. I have an 86 cr125 and but buddys got an 85 yz125 and i burn him especially off the line, but dont get me wrong when i spin his bike its really got sum good top end takes alitle longer to hit the powerband but once you get up there oh man your cruisin.
dude ya back in the day honda was great, but now yamaha has the leading 2 stroke and thats wat i was refering to. back in the day honda was unbeatable, its a shame that every company is switchin to 4's. its a shame but now days a honda would be destroyed by a yamaha. 10lbs lighter and 2:1 greater copression ratio with the power valve. honda definately is still second in my book though.
i find the gear ratios better on a yz they seem more responsive than on the cr you really have to hang on the throttle and drag it out thru the gears compared to the yz that react better

hard to say exactly.i think each bike varies.if they were both new and stock it would be neck and neck.
