the old kdx are a mad bike i have a yz125 and my friend had a kdx200 91 for a 91 it was pretty good theres good power in them and good top end the only thing is theres no power valve in them i raced it on my yz and i got a head of him cos of the power valve but in top speed the kdx if ur looking for a good bike buy it. we were trying to burn the kdx out after and i mean u could pin the trottle for 13 seconds and it still did not blow and that was flat out but that was a 91 so if ur buying a newer i say they have upgraded a lot are there much better now so ye there a good bike i say ur better of with a wrf250 though
i had a 89 kdx 200 - yeah that thing was a tank but i could hold a wheeli thrugh all the gears - and ive redlined mine way longer than 13 secs- toped out 95mph next to my freind in his car
i really have to say there a bike that loves getting abuce we have done every thing on it drive up sheer hills and to prove to u we drove the pin outa this bike we done a cheap ass spray job on the bike and i mean it looked bad we had no back mub gaurd no front lights on it we trough them in a ditch cause they looked crap we had no air filter in it the seat was cable tied on this thing was a mess but what a tank it was we towed quads with it bleave it or not a banshee 350 haha it was funny it had not exhuast on it eather but we gave it all it could just tryin to blow it and its still going a lad took it of are hands now and he done it up and it looks brand new we did not even cop on it was the bike so get a kdx200 to mess bout on there mad we did not have a back tube in it too haha
A 2002 XR 250 with a FMF pipe will beat a KDX 200....... My friend has a XR250 and my other friend has 1997 KDX 200 and they raced at a track and the XR pulled through at the end and the guy on the KDX was way better rider and racer.
sup dude i really keen to get kdx 2001 model race ready but not sure weather its strong enongh, but i am only 17 this year and i just sold my last bike which was a rt 100, so i got cash but it was a shit bike
Im tellin u im only a yamaha and ktm person for kawi they made one hell of animal of a bike get one you wont be disapointed we had no trouble on hillclimbs with the kdx. We are sad we got rid of it now that thing should have been hung from the shead roof as a monument.
Go for it ! They are brilliant.....for an old school bike there definately one of the better choices, I had an enduro model imported into OZ about 8 years ago and the only things you need to watch are the Stator gives probs occassionaly & the gear box bends the selector arm(s) if you abuse it. We had it happen about 3 times in 4 years, but it was raced often and did a heap of trail riding over the Great Dividing Range in the North East of Australia. If you feel the selector get notchy or tight - STOP. The last time mine went it was on a transport section & the rear wheel just locked solid at about 40, so it was "fun" to stop !!!!!!! Cost about $300 AUD just for the parts (it usually buggers a couple of gearswhen it happens) Don`t let the story stop you though, remember this was one raced lots & ridden at least 10 - 15hrs almost every week for 4 years. I only got off it because the old school ergos started to annoy me.
ha kdx
