what is the smartest thing to do to clog a leek in a radiator while on the trail?
well i love my 02 cr500 but the thing is to damn heavy for the kind of riding im doing and my sx250 is not powerful enough, and i cant use my dr650 because its not tough enough. i was thinking about installing a lightened fly wheel and maybe going to a lighter frame, which one should i think about doing?
Plug Hungry CR
Here is my question:
I have a 2002 CR 250 that I had bought brand new back in 02’. I have always run Honda HP2 synthetic racing oil with 93 octane mixed 32:1. The bike is all stock aside from my silencer. I have ridden this bike for years and NEVER had a problem until recently. The bike runs strong, but has been consistently fouling plugs, even under heavy riding. I am fouling on average about 4 plugs in a 3.5 hour ride. The plugs are wet with a film of gas and oil on them. I have never touched the carb, because I have never had a reason too. When it first started fouling plugs, I replaced the top-end, with a standard size piston and rings and I also replaced the reeds. It ran great but was still fouling plugs just as much. So then I decided to replace the clutch side crank seal. I know that it is possible if the clutch side seal is leaking, that it will draw tranny fluid into the cylinder, thus flooding out the plug. Well, this didn’t fix the issue either. So I then decided to tear apart the carb. There was absolutely nothing visibly wrong with the carburetor. It looked better than new inside, but I still removed all the jets and the choke, making sure everything was clean. I also checked the floats, which were not sticking. I put the carb back together and adjusted the air screw to 1 ½ turns out. (This is the stock setting that I have always used on the bike). I cleaned the airfilter and put a new BR8EG plug in it. Yet it is still fouling 3 or 4 plugs every ride. At this point, I am not sure where to start trouble shooting and my patience is running thin, along with my bank account from buying 4 plugs each ride. I also pulled the stator cover off thinking that maybe the flywheel cover was leaking water into the generator and causing a weak spark, which was causing the plug not to burn hot enough. The stator looks clean and free of corrosion. I haven’t actually taken it apart yet, but I was thinking of cleaning the brushes in hopes to strengthen the spark. Is there any easy way, or any way, to test the stator for malfunction? Also, my exhaust valve (RC Valve) has never been cleaned and could quite possibly be clogged up, but I didn’t think that would cause a rich condition. Any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
well ive been having trouble with my sx250, i just cant get the torque out of it that i know it is capable of. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 2001 CR 125 and it’s not running well. The bottom 1/4 to 1/2 of the throttle runs like a champ. When I get on it trying to accelerate and pull to over half throttle instead of screaming like it should zzzaaaAAAAAAAA...
I get a zzzaaaa..aaa..aa..aaa..aa..aaa like it is cutting out and it never really reaches it's top end. This is my first dirt bike so I’m relatively new to tuning these things, but I was thinking this meant it was running to rich? So I should try a smaller main jet (larger main just number) and/or moving the needle clip position up. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
I was just wondering if anybody knew how the V force reed valves worked for a YZ-125
ive got a 2000 suzuki dr 650 with a 41 tooth pro taper rear sprocket and a 14 tooth front sprocket, a pro circut pipe and an icat ignition, i just reacently boared it out to 688cc and put a new air filter. clocked at 137 mph!!!!
wich one would win?
well me and one of my buddies were skrewing around on my sweet pimped out xr70(i usually ride my sx250). well we took of down the street with me on front and my "big boned" friend on back. we were picking up speed and i made the split second decision to turn onto a privat street. well this was the start to a painfull relization of the laws suvarity. so we decided to see how fast we could get the little 70 so we drove up to a random car that was doing 40 mph, these people in the car called the cops on us. realizing what they have done we cranked it up to 45 mph and in the midst of the caos we tried to turn on to the side walk at nearly 50 mph!!!! and thats where it happened. we hit the curb and i went flying off the little bike, i fell of and my arm took all of the impact and my radius(one of the bones in the arm) ripped through my skin. but it wasnt over, to add insult to injury the bike landed on my balls!!! and this was when the cops arrived at the reck. the damn cop didnt even notice the large bone sticking out of my skin, all he did was arest us and tell us to walk my bike two miles back to my house with a trashed arm. long story short THE POLIECE FRIKEN BLOW!!!
